AboutFive years ago, Naomi was bequeathed a small glass shop’s contents, and with little instruction began to create her own designs for installed stained glass windows and door lights in her owner/builder custom Strawbale home. Naomi’s style of design has developed around curvaceous nature-based forms, letting the interplay of color, pattern, texture and the quality of light in the glass itself dictate the outcome as much as her initial concept for each custom piece. Collaborating with her husband Rick Maddux of Albatross Woodcrafters, Naomi is now mixing the media of wood and copper with glass and artistic soldering techniques to create custom free-hanging sculptural pieces. Naomi also transforms scrap glass to mosaic reflective beauty in a variety of applications, including countertops and tables. |
